1. Copyright policy

Users may not publish content that infringes another party's copyright. We may remove or restrict access to reported content and take action against repeat infringers.

2. Submitting a DMCA notice

If you believe content on RealBackpage infringes your copyright, send a written notice containing all information listed below to our designated contact.

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.
  • The exact URL or sufficient details to locate the allegedly infringing content.
  • Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  • A good-faith statement that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and you are authorized to act for the copyright owner.

3. How we respond

After receiving a complete notice, we may remove or disable access to the identified content, notify the user who posted it, and retain the notice as required for legal and enforcement purposes.

Incomplete or unclear notices may be delayed or rejected.

4. Submitting a counter-notice

If your content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice containing:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the removed content and its former location.
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that removal resulted from mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, address, telephone number, and consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate United States federal court.
  • Your agreement to accept service of process from the original claimant or their agent.

5. Content restoration

We may restore content after forwarding a valid counter-notice unless the original claimant informs us within the legally required period that court action has been filed to prevent restoration.

6. Repeat infringer policy

Where appropriate, RealBackpage may suspend or terminate accounts belonging to users who repeatedly infringe copyrights or other intellectual property rights.

7. Misrepresentation warning

Knowingly making a material misrepresentation in a notice or counter-notice may result in liability for damages, costs, and attorneys' fees. Consider obtaining legal advice before submitting a claim.
